5 Great Products for a Mom with an Infant

In this blog, I share some products that were greatly helpful in caring for my infant.  These are products that are probably not a must-have but will be of great use in your newborn's/infant's care plan. I do have another blog on must-haves for moms with newborns.

Infant Weighing Scale

This helps keep track of the baby's weight and whether it is growing as expected. When my newborn lost close to 10% of his birth weight due to feeding issues, we were advised by the pediatrician to get a weight check every week at the clinic. But, with the COVID-19 pandemic and our increased efforts to resolved those feeding issues, we wanted this facility at our home and so looked up baby weighing machines. The following one was a great and reliable product and we used it once every week until the baby's height got longer than the length of this scale. Being able to see the baby's weight trends greatly helped us know whether we are on track.

Baby Camera

Having the following camera in the baby's sleeping area and being able to seamlessly monitor the baby through the corresponding phone app (Nooie) allowed us to do other tasks with peace of mind that we will know as soon as the baby is up or cries. This is a not-so-expensive, yet very helpful device that allows us (to date) to conveniently monitor our sleeping baby while we are doing other tasks.

Breast Pump

After a lot of research, I went with the following Spectra product and it was super helpful and easy to use and clean.

Baby Bath Tub

The following is a great bathtub for babies and we have been using it since our baby's birth in Dec, 2020 till date. It works great for bathing infants (whether they lie down in a recline position or sit up or stand).  We have used it on bathroom countertops as well as inside the regular bathtub. It is also very easy to clean and comes with a hook that can be used to hang it on a towel bar so it is neatly put aside when not in use.

Diaper Bag

I purchased two diaper bags but found the following bag most useful. It is big enough to carry both feeding and diapering supplies, comes with a built-in changing mat, and has plenty of compartments for the segregation of different things. I carry it every time we step out with the baby and have it always ready to go.  It is convenient to carry on the shoulder and easily fits in the stroller basket as well.
